CCM/E Ethics Officer, in Collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s Women and Social Affairs Inclusion Executive Office, Conducted a Pilot Assessment on the Global Fund Grant Recipients’ Code of Conduct and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment Policy in Dire Dawa Over Two Consecutive Days in December 2024
The Ministry of Health Women and Social Affairs Inclusion Executive Office (MWSAIEO) recently undertook a pilot assessment in Dire Dawa town to evaluate the implementation of the Global Fund’s Code of Conduct (CoC), Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) policy, and Child Protection policy.
A team from MWSAIEO, including the CCM/E ethics officer, engaged with Global Fund grant focal points and gender specialists at the Dire Dawa Health Bureau. The assessment aimed to gauge awareness and understanding of these policies, identify challenges and best practices related to ethical breaches and SEAH issues, and assess the availability of reporting channels for beneficiaries and staff.

MWSAIEO shared the Ministry’s experiences and initiatives, including recent workplace harassment training documents. Discussions with regional bureau staff and Sabian General Hospital focal points revealed critical gaps and challenges in communicating the CoC and PSEAH policies at the lower levels.
The intensive assessment results will be disseminated to MoH Global Fund grant coordinators, WSAIEO partner organizations, and all stakeholders to collaboratively discuss the findings and devise strategies for future action,
